The objective of the Ph.D. programme at Asian International University is to enable students to engage in advanced studies in various disciplines fostering original and independent research in their areas of specialization& integrate their professional education and experience in solving larger problems of society.

Scholars, working closely under the guidance of senior faculty are expected to develop their abilities through course work/seminars/projects to have the depth & breadth of knowledge in their chosen areas of study, ability to identify research problems, to do the actual research and ability to write, present and defend the results.

Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. program shall have to possess:
Masters degree in concerned subject with a minimum of 55 % marks (CGPA 5.5 on a 10 point scale) or equivalent from a recognized University / Institution.

Admission shall be based on :

•   Performance in Entrance Test & Interview.
•   The University reserves the right to limit the number of scholars to be admitted to the University at any time. This decision would be guided by the available resources and other facilities.

The students can be registered as Full Time or on Part Time basis

•   A Full Time scholar has to attend the university regularly and will be subject to the prescribed attendance rules of the University.
•   Professionally employed personnel such as working engineers, scientists and teachers may be allowed to pursue Ph.D. on part-time basis. Such candidates are required to submit a “No Objection Certificate” from their parent organization /department /employer stating that he / she is permitted to pursue studies on a part-time basis and that his / her duties permit him / her to devote sufficient time for research.

The Programme duration shall be minimum three years including course work and a maximum of 6 years.

*An amount of Rs.22,000/- per month will be offered as Junior Research Fellowship on the basis of entrance examination test.

Notes:

1. After 3yrs, only tuition fee is chargeable for each extension year till the submission of thesis.

2. Part time PhD program does not have any residential requirement. Hostel facility is not available for Part Time students

3. Candidates can use the Guest House for stay on the chargeable.

Refund of Fee

No Fee shall be refunded, after commencement of the session.

All students will be subject to the provisions of Asian International University, Manipur Act (20 of 2021), Statutes, ordinances & Regulations(as amended from time to time).
